Contributions Of the Spanish missionaries in the Philippines
1. Founders of Towns
The missionaries founded many towns and cities in the Philippines. Our modern towns grew out of these early Spanish settlements. The Spaniards wanted the Filipino within hearing distance of church bells, and so, towns and villages formed rectangular buildings, residential houses, and rectangular street blocks. Gone were the scattered dwellings of the early Filipinos, and in its place arose the orderly communities, with roads and street names. The Catholic Church became the most beautiful building, and the center of town life.
2. Engineers Of Infrastructure Projects
The Spanish missionaries were skillful in building roads, bridges, forts, and irrigation dams.
3. Agriculturists
The missionaries were also responsible for the introduction of new plants and animals in the Philippines. These new food plants came from Mexico and Europe, such as corn, coffee, cacao, tomatoes, squash, lima beans, achuete, guavas, peanuts, chico, papaya, potatoes, cincamas, cabbage, eggplant, pineapple, sugarcane, and wheat. They also brought plants like cotton and indigo. Filipinos learned to eat bread and drink coffee or chocolate. Other new foods introduced by Spain were beef(from cattle), sausages(longaniza), ham(jamon), and Spanish sardines. In addition, from other parts of Europe came imported canned goods like chorizo de Bilbao, olive oil, and pickles. Spain also brought into the country new animals like goats, carabaos, cattle, horses, pigeons, and etc.
4. Industrialists
The Spanish missionaries taught the Filipinos new industries. They introduced new methods in fishing, weaving, mining, farming, and metal-work which increase productivity; cattle raising, the cultivation of corn and bananas, fish and salt drying, iron and copper mining;and weaving of hats and mats. The people learned to make silk, candles, and soap; quarry adobe stones; as indigo from tropical plants. In addition, they introduced the manufacture of lime and tiles for building purposes, and the construction of stone houses and churches. Moreover, products manufactured from hemp, sugar, coconut, and tobacco plants, which we began to grow in large quantities, now became major industries that were started by the Spaniards.
5. Architects
Many beautiful churches with Byzantine, Baroque, Ionian, Doric, Corinthian, Graeco-Roman, and Gothic architectural designs were built in the Philippines during the Spanish era. They were among the greatest legacies of Spain to the country. These stone churches were not only houses of worship but they were also outstanding works of art. Famous churches built by the religious orders are the San Agustin Church and the Manila Cathedral in Manila; Morong Church in Rizal; Barasoain Church in Malolos: San Fernando and Bauan Churches in La Union; and the Vigan Church in Ilocus Sur, among others.
6. The Obras Pias
Before the first banks were established in the country, there were obras pias. These were funds donated to various religious orders by rich persons in society. These were then loaned by the friars to businessman who needed money, and the interests earned were used for charitable works.

Beliefs And Practices of Islam
Beliefs....
Muslims believe that there is only one god(allah). In Islam to believe in Allah's existence but also to believe in all Allah's attributions, to worship Allah alone, and to obey all Allah's commands. Muslims do not believe that Allah sleeps, gets tired, or dies. Those attributes are only for Allah's creatures. Allah has neither weakness of weariness. Muslims do not believe that human beings are created in the image of Allah. Muslims believe that there is no intermediary who will take any one nearer to Allah or plead on anyone's behalf. They believe that any individual can directly supplicate to Allah and ask for anything he/she wants.
Practices....
Within Islam itself, every Muslim , has to practice certain worship, some personal practices, and five prayers everyday. Every male and female is expected to perform prayers five times a day. Also, they fast during the month of the Ramadan. Fasting is very important, highly spiritual that you can go through, along with prayers and devotion at night during the month.. They have five steps in praising they're god. First: Lying Second: Bowing Third: Kneeling Forth: Sitting and the last but not the least, The fifth: standing.

The story Jose Rizal starring Cesar Montano he's full name is Jose Protacio Mercado Rizal y Realonda. It started a man writing novels about how Spaniards treated them and eventually fought for and achieved independence after a bloody revolution. He even enrolled November 3, 1883 and finished doctorate courses on medicine. When he went to Europe he spread out his novels to our country and to other country to know on how the Spaniards treated us. He left Manila for Spain hoping to contribute his medical skills. But he was arrested before reaching Spain and jailed in Barcelona shipped back in the Philippines and imprisoned at Fort Bonifacio, Manila. After a trial, which was a farce due to hatred of abusive officials and bad friars, he was proven guilty of rebellion, sedition, and illegal association which twisted the truth. The verdict given was death by firing squad which was approved by Governor Camillio who ordered his execution on December 30, 1896. The death of Jose Rizal at Bagumbayan. Effects of Population Explosion in The Philippines
In point of fact, our national government declared many programs that emphasize the importance of family planning in order to reduce the growth rate of the population. However, because of some negative effects brought by these artificial methods, and, as mentioned earlier, these cultural and religious bases, many couples do not use them. But most of them have their own individual solutions, and disparities over formulas had often blocked efforts to come up with a solution. So many families are not aware of the programs regarding the population explosion that we have now. For this reason, our country becomes poorer, and the people get stuck in this sticky situation of poverty and squalor. In this lies the problem: at first, the babies need milk, diapers and vitamins. Providing them creates a large number of problems that demand the fullest utilization of the nation's resources. And when they do, they need education, which requires more school structures; they need food, clothing, houses, jobs, etc. This rapid growth of population is quite hard to endure for it really affects both the social and economic condition of our country. However, population growth cannot be controlled easily because of cultural and religious reasons, not to mention, the Philippines is known to be very conservative and very much Catholic, in its broadest sense. But the trouble is, babies grow up. These are basic needs that must be filled. There will be more babies born 20 years from now than the number of babies that are born this day. There are more babies being born today than there were in the 1970s.

Arroyo Approves retirement of Bangit
President Macapagal-Arroyo approved on Monday Bangit’s request for early retirement from the service, her spokesperson Ricardo Saludo said.
"As recommended by the AFP Board of Generals, the President has designated Vice Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Nestor Ochoa as Acting Chief of Staff after Gen. Bangit retires,'' Saludo said in a text message to reporters.
Bangit filed for early retirement last week after President-elect Benigno "Noynoy'' Aquino III made it very clear he did not wish to have him as his AFP chief.
The AFP chief had asked for his retirement to take effect on June 22 or ahead of his benefactor, Ms Arroyo, who steps down from power at noon of June 30.
Aquino and his camp had questioned earlier the appointment of Bangit which was made by Ms Arroyo on March 9, or a day before the ban on appointments.
Congress failed to act on the ad interim appointment of Bangit when it closed last month.
Bangit was supposed to retire in July next year.
